Your book is computed from facts most people never write down anywhere. Here is exactly what we collect, what it does, and what it will never do.

What we collect

• Your name and your birth date, and, if you give them, your birth time and your birthplace. Every line of your book is computed from these.
• Your email address, so your pages can reach you.
• If you order: the dedication you write, and the shipping address and phone number you give at checkout.
• Visit counts. We use Google Analytics to see which pages people read and which buttons they press. It sets cookies. It never sees your name or your birth facts.

What it's for

To compute, write, print and ship your book. To send the free pages you asked for. To answer you when you write to us. That is the whole list.

What we never do

We don't sell your data. We don't share it for advertising. And asking for your free pages doesn't put you in an email sequence: you get one email, with your pages in it.

Who else touches it

A few services do their jobs with the minimum they need:

• Netlify hosts this site and stores what you type into our forms.
• Stripe handles payment. Your card number goes to Stripe and never to us.
• The bindery that prints your book receives the finished pages and the address to ship them to.
• The service that sends our email delivers your pages to your inbox.
• Google Analytics counts visits, as above.

How long we keep it

We keep your facts and your finished book so we can regenerate your digital edition, replace a damaged copy, and add your birth time later if you find it. If you'd rather we held nothing, write to hello@readthebookofyou.com and we'll delete everything we hold about you, or show you a copy of it first. Either is yours to ask.

Children

The site and the book are written for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
